Baaasically it means it will be sweaty, humid, overcast, possibly raining, and there will be thunderstorms (ie; thunder & lightning) which are super common for that area/the east coast in general. I don't believe you've never experienced a thunderstorm. You just don't know you have!
The only redeeming thing about the storms is that it might cut the humidity a bit and the breeze/wind is better than still summer air, yadddddda?
the rain there comes with no warning. literally, one second, hella hot and humid. the next it's POURING. sun showers are often and spread out. invest in a cool rain jacket and lots of light clothing =) it'll be okay!
